EIGHT STANDARD SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE (ESLC)
Tamilnadu Council conducts Eighth Standard Examination yearly twice in the month of June and December. The subjects include Tamil (any Regional Language), English, Maths, Science and Social Science. Eighth Standard. Elementary school, Class I – VIII, is recognised as the period of compulsory schooling, with the Constitutional amendment making education a fundamental right.
For a student who has completed Eighth Standard, the stress is placed on the ability to use the language in speech and in writing for academic purposes, at the workplace and in society in general. Academic skills, social skills, civic competencies and creative activities are encouraged and instilled in the students. The Government gives the minimum qualification required in certain jobs as Eighth Standard. So, it is essential to study at least Eighth Standard to get a job in the Government. A pass in ESLC is required to join SSLC.
A pass in ESLC Examination requires a minimum of 35% of marks in each one of the five subjects. The minimum age of the student should be 12½ years. The candidate will be enrolled as Private Candidate at Tamilnadu Council.
We do not guarantee any Government job or further admission to any Regular School or College. We provide this course, only for the purpose of gaining knowledge and for the purpose of obtaining eligibility to join Open and Distance Education Programmes of Tamilnadu Council for Open and
Distance Learning. If anybody gives false promises, you are requested not to believe those words and are requested to call us and ascertain about the original motive of promoting Secondary Education. In case of disputes arising out of eligibility and approvals criteria, all disputes will be settled under Chennai Jurisdiction only.

ELIGIBILITY: A Pass in 6th Class / Age Should be 12 Years Completed
FEE: Registration Fee: INR 1,000 and Course Fee: INR 2,000 per annum
